Adding Custom Categories

 

Custom Categories.

 

CatalogVX provides nine predefine categories in the category dialog. 

You may use these predefine categories for your catalog sections.

The predefine categories provided by CatalogVX may not be enough for your catalog.

You may define your own custom categories in order to organize the products and files within your list of items ( item list ). 

 

 

Creating Custom Categories.

 

When creating a custom category you must create at lease one subcategory. 

Within the category editor  you may enter a new category name and many subcategories.

 

To add a custom categories to your item list:

 

1.  Select the button from the toolbar.

 

2.  Click the "Add New Category Folder"  button.

 

3.  Within the Category Editor, enter the name of the new category in the name field.

 

4.  Add a subcategory name by clicking on the

 

5.  When you are finished adding all your subcategories, click the   button to add your category.

 

Note:  You must add at least 1 subcategory to all categories folders in order.

 

 

Reusing your custom categories in another PAC file.

 

All custom categories will be save as part of your PAC file.

If you want to reuse your customized categories as part of another PAC file, you will need to save and reload your custom categories.

 

To save your custom categories so that they may be reused,  select the "Save Custom Categories" from the Files menu.

 

To reload your custom categories,  select the "Load Custom Categiories" from the Files menus.

 

 

 

Automatic custom category save and reload.

 

You can save your custom categories automatically by using the Edit Preference from the filed menu.

 

Check the  "Save Custom Categories" check box to automatically save your custom categories

each time you exit the program.   You may do the same for the reload custom categories check box.
